Darksiders III: Available August 1 to 31
Darksiders III is a hack-n-slash Action Adventure game set in an apocalyptic Earth. That alone should pique your interest! You’ll assume the role of FURY, a mage who must rely on her whip and magic to restore the balance between good and evil on Earth! Harness FURY’s magic to unleash her various forms – each granting her access to new weapons, moves and traversal abilities.

- Explore an open-ended, living, free-form game world in which FURY moves back and forth between environments to uncover secrets while advancing the story.

Yooka-Laylee: Available August 16 to September 15
Yooka-Laylee doesn’t branch too far from its obvious Banjo-Kazooie roots. It simply takes a bigger is better approach that makes it a joy to explore the worlds and collect every goody. Playtonic Games has created an enjoyable love letter to 90’s collectathon platforming in Yooka-Laylee that hardcore fans of the genre will want to set their googly eyes on.
The key features of Yooka-Laylee are as follows:
- An Arsenal of Abilities: Sonar blasting, tongue whipping, sky soaring a move roster built for platforming fun and unlocked with added freedom. Additionally, there may or may not be a move involving a giant fart bubble.
- Expandable Worlds: Experience more of the playgrounds you love by spending collectibles to expand your favourites into bigger, more challenging worlds.
- Arcade machines: Each world hides at least one secret arcade game encasing old-school gaming goodness. Complete its retro-tastic challenge to claim your Pagie!
Lost Planet 3: Available August 1 to 15
Lost Planet 3 is a third-person shooter that delivers a diverse range of gameplay including on-foot battles and intense first person action. With a number of multiplayer modes and a compelling single player experience, Lost Planet 3 dives deeper into the Lost Planet universe, uncovering hidden truths within the unique and dynamic environment of E.D.N. III.
Lost Planet 3 features four team-based multiplayer modes (Scenario Mode, Akrid Survival, Extraction Mode, and Team Deathmatch). Lost Planet 3 also features a progression sphere that allows players to tweak their character with RPG-like options. Players will gain new abilities and have access to around 8-10 weapons, a representative told us. Additionally, each weapon has an ultimate version that can be unlocked, though details on how you’re able to do so are scarce.
Garou: Mark of the Wolves: Available August 16 to 31
SNK’s Garou: Mark of the Wolves is arguably one of the greatest fighting games ever made. Originally released in 1999 for the arcade and Neo Geo home format, the eighth installment in the Fatal Fury series remains SNK’s masterpiece, challenged by very few titles – before and since – as the greatest of all-time. More than 20 years later, Garou: Mark of the Wolves burned a trail onto the Xbox One with its wonderful cast of characters and an easy-to-learn, but incredibly deep, fighting system.
It’s hard not to recommend Garou: Mark of the Wolves to just about anyone with interest in fighting games. It’s one of the best and more detailed fighters from the past decade, with deep, tough-to-master characters and an overall balanced fighting system that awards skilled, dedicated players.
