Cyberpunk 2077 Has Completed It's Redemption Arc

The recent Game Award showcased the gaming industry’s finest, with Baldur’s Gate 3 clenching the prestigious Game of the Year accolade. However, while we knew Baldur’s Gate 3 would be the obvious winner of the night, the spotlight shifted unexpectedly as Cyberpunk 2077, notorious for its disastrous launch three years ago, secured the best ongoing Game Award. Taking a trip down memory lane, Cyberpunk 2077’s initial release was plagued by a slew of bugs, particularly on console versions, causing substantial damage to CD Projekt Red’s once-stellar reputation. By the time the Cyberpunk 2.0 patch is released in 2023, the story has changed dramatically.

In addition to fixing the game’s obvious problems at launch, this extensive update has taken the game to new heights, making it a playable, extensive, and—above all—enjoyable dystopian role-playing game. It seems appropriate to highlight Cyberpunk 2077 once more in light of the release of the Ultimate Edition and its recent victory at the Game Awards. Still, is it really the game it set out to be, and will it still be enjoyable in 2024 in light of all these updates? Let’s examine what to anticipate and the main reasons you should attempt it.

    Cyberpunk 2077- Story

    Cyberpunk 2077 Redemption Arc- Story

In Cyberpunk 2077, you play as V, a Night City mercenary whose mind intertwines with the deceased rockstar Johnny Silverhand, played by the lovable Keanu Reeves. Despite Johnny’s abrasive nature, their evolving relationship is central as they tackle shared challenges. During your adventure, you’ll encounter numerous endearing and not-so-likable NPCs, tackle various side missions, and engage in a main campaign that typically spans around 25 hours.

Cyberpunk 2077 Redemption Arc- Idris Elba

Phantom Liberty, the sole expansion for Cyberpunk 2077, offers a substantial 14 extra hours of main story content, and that’s without counting the numerous additional side quests it introduces. It kicks off with the president of NUS Crash Landing in Dogtown, a self-governed Night City district, and you’re tasked by her Secret Service to rescue her. Some new characters are included, notably the sleeper agent Solomon Reed, played by none other than the charismatic Idris Elba. Phantom Liberty is the epitome of Cyberpunk 2077, perfectly encapsulating the rich tapestry of Night City’s criminal activity, political intrigue, and cast of personalities. This distinguishes it from other sci-fi hacker games by incorporating Cyberpunk 2077’s wild spirit into a well-developed narrative. Cyberpunk 2077 and its expansion pack Phantom Liberty are a suitable option if you’re craving an engaging tale with fascinating characters and plot twists.

    Cyberpunk 2077- Setting

    Cyberpunk 2077 Redemption Arc- Setting

Nestled on the border between North and South California, Night City is a free city that is a thriving autonomous metropolis. Beneath its modern façade, the city is truly a complex tapestry of corporate dominance, organized crime, pervasive corruption, and the constant pulse of gang violence. Night City’s immense majesty and breadth considerably improve the overall gaming experience. Beyond being a visual spectacle with its lofty structures and minutely drawn in-world billboards, exploring its wide territory conveys a sense of the city’s majesty.

Every expedition becomes a fun adventure in and of itself because to the meticulous attention to detail, which enhances the entire gaming experience. The 2.0 upgrade has greatly enhanced the city’s appearance, particularly in the areas of character models, street traffic, and animations. The streets are now packed with a wide range of visually striking, interesting, and differently attired NPCs. There’s more traffic, which makes the city feel livelier overall, and greater police presence. Essentially, Night City is a dynamic, living phenomena that demands total immersion from its participants. With so many gameplay options available, Cyberpunk 2077 is an immersive and rewarding experience for anyone embarking on a futuristic journey through its bustling streets and varied landscapes.

    Gameplay

    Gameplay

The gameplay of Cyberpunk 2077 has changed significantly since its release. These days, combat is based on established skill trees that have main and secondary benefits. The focus is on how abilities shape gameplay, with perks offering extra effects and modifiers. For instance, the body tree adds the capacity to use explosive power to lift and toss opponents. Netrunners have instantaneous target suppression capabilities, and they can move more quickly with the air dash. With a katana, you can even deflect gunfire. How awesome is that? The game has also added car shootouts, which provide three different kinds of experiences.

    automobiles update

In the first, players may drive and fire ahead in automobiles that are outfitted with actual guns and armor. Certain automobiles are equipped with missiles and machine guns, much of like in the Twisted Metal series. The second kind permits driving while firing from two different kinds of weapons. Gamers have the option to aim at the heads of their opponents or their automobiles, which may render them immobile. If you want to be discreet, you may try remote hacking your attackers’ brakes or setting up faults that would blow up their vehicle.

The third kind entails being able to slide or jump out of the vehicle and fly in slow motion alongside foes. There have also been a number of additional advancements, as with the clothing system. The new system depends on modular components that may be altered at any moment, giving you more flexibility and freedom to personalize V to your heart’s content. This is in contrast to the previous system, where clothing supplied particular armour and resistances. Overall, the 2.0 update has brought Cyberpunk 2077’s gameplay closer to CDPR’s original emphasis on player expression by turning it into an open-world action game with a focus on distinctive character builds. Even though the game still has some RPG components, it largely focuses on action, giving Night City’s already vibrant setting more vitality.

slide or jump out of the vehicle

Not to be undervalued are the advancements made by Cyberpunk 2077. It’s not just a game that you can tolerate anymore; it’s a game that makes you pay attention, making it something that players want to finish as well as enjoy and value.

The 2.0 upgrade has been essential to this progress, as have the fixes that came before it. demonstrating the commitment CDPR has made to the game and its supporters. A three-year quest for atonement may have come to an end with the release of the Ultimate Edition and the recent victory at the Game Awards. Considering how much love CDPR has put into Cyberpunk 2077, it is strongly recommended—even for those who survived its early storms—to play Cyberpunk 2077 again in 2024. Cyberpunk 2077 is unquestionably one of the best games available right now, and it serves as a monument to the strength of endurance. Starfield, kindly record your notes. What is everyone’s opinion?
