Immortals of Aveum, Ascendant Studios’ first game, has launched in all of its stunning splendor. Immortals of Aveum, which tells the story of the Triarch Jak, sends players on a mission to defend Aveum against Sandrakk’s mounting menace of the Everwar. The game became available on August 22, 2023, for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S.
Immortals of Aveum is a first-person linear magic shooter that draws inspiration from numerous really great and notable games, like Destiny 2, DOOM, Bioshock, and even Metroid Prime. It’s simple to get sucked into such a breathtaking and thrilling experience, but Immortals of Aveum has more going on than you would realize. We offer beginner tips to help you get the most of your Immortals of Aveum experience.
In order to offer new players a head start, we will cover some of the most helpful tips in our Immortals of Aveum guide.
Immortals of Aveum Tips: Recognize The Different Shades of Magic
In Immortals of Aveum, magic comes in three distinct hues: blue, red, and green. The various magic forms mimic weapons from classic first-person shooter video games. The various forms of magic include:
Blue magic, often known as force magic, deals long-range, very accurate assaults that resemble sniper rifles.
Red Magic / Chaos Magic: Deals heavy damage over a wide yet close-range area, akin to shooting a shotgun. Ideal for a defensive playstyle.
Green Magic/Life Magic: Uses rapid-fire magic bullets that fire like an SMG, making it ideal for an attacking playstyle. Ideal for securing adversaries while dealing harm to them.
Immortals of Aveum Tips: Before Unlocking Them, Explore Each Talent Tree
In this game, each of the three spells has its own Talent Tree. Jak can unlock over 80 talents by selecting a specific skill tree or by combining all three talent trees. The most effective skills for beginners include:
Fast Shield (Blue Magic)
Sharpshooter (Blue Magic)
Consuming Corrosion (Red Magic)
Quickstep (Green Magic).
Greater Blink (Green Magic)
Mana Well (Green Magic)
Perfect Block (Blue Magic)
Hardened Shield (Blue Magic)
Exacted Corrosion (Red Magic)
Safeguard (Red Magic)
Siphon Shield (Green Magic)
Impulse (Red Magic)
Optimal Upgrades to Unlock First
The skill tree in Immortals of Aveum is rather extensive. Every magic kind has a different skill tree. Mana Well is one of the better abilities to learn first, though. Your spell furies, which are very potent spells you may cast, will be able to passively renew as a result. Additionally useful is the Sharpshooter talent, which raises the critical damage of all of your spells. Unlocking color sigil talents is a good alternative. These will boost the production of damage for spells of various colors.
Try Every Type of Sigil
Jak can use Blue, Red, and Green magic as a Triach. These depict the three types of weapons: Control (precise), Violence (explosive), and Entropic (chaotic). You have nine different weapon types (Arclight, Shrikebolt, Javelin, Fragfire, Burstfire, Breachfire, Stormshard, Maelstrom, and Seekershards) available to you because each colored sigil has three versions. There is no excuse not to test each sigil out and see how they perform for your play style given that Immortals of Aveum allows infinite ammo and lightning-quick weapon shifting. In Aveum, preparing a loadout for any circumstance is essential to surviving.
Combined Your Skills
Along with sigils, Jak has a variety of additional spells that you may learn along the journey. Combining them increases combat control significantly and is crucial for ensuring survival. Highly successful tactics include utilizing the Lash to draw an adversary closer you before launching a red Breachfire sigil at them to knock them out of the air. Later powers allow you to stop charging adversaries in their tracks, launch a barrage of seeking missiles, break shields with stone spikes, and more. Use your whole toolkit in combat instead than relying on one strategy to shift the tide and defeat Rasharn’s men.
Keep in mind that there are several spells;
Strike Spells: Your primary assaults are called strike spells, and there are three strike spells available for each color.
Control spells: You’ll use your off-hand to cast these support spells. Since they don’t require any mana, keep in mind to utilize them more frequently.
Fury Spells: These powerful assaults, which you’ll use both of your hands to perform, deal a lot of damage and require Fury mana.
Augment Spells- The following are examples of augmentation spells: Blink, Hover, Shield, Grapple, and more.
Dominion: This is essentially your strongest assault, channeling the power of all three magic colors into a single, devastating blow.
Shoot It If It Glows
Every thing in Immortals of Aveum that has even the slightest trace of magic will radiate some sort of colorful light. Sometimes the object is a crystal that can only be broken by a certain totem. Maybe to unlock a door, you need to press a button with a particular color. Of course, there are occasions when it’s a jar filled with vivid yellow stones that alerts you to the presence of valuable money. The majority of the time, anything worthwhile in our world will emit dazzling light. You just don’t have the appropriate one yet if it doesn’t respond to your spells. Make sure to return!
Pay Attention To Shroudfanes
Immortals of Aveum was just released, therefore nothing is known about Shroudfanes. Shrouldfanes are said to be doors that open to a separate realm where you must solve puzzles, engage in battle, or face other difficulties. In Immortals of Aveum, completing these tasks will also provide you access to other upgrades and story-related goods.
Immortals of Aveum – Combat Tips
Immortals of Aveum Tips: Utilize Your Magic As Necessary
Three different magic/weapon streams are available in Immortals of Aveum: Red weapons, which are similar to shotguns and provide significant close-range damage, Blue weapons, which resemble sniper rifles, and Green weapons, which unleash a torrent of homing attacks. Since Green strikes are so simple to employ while yet being rather potent, it’s possible to practically grow hooked to them. Nevertheless, it’s best to switch things up frequently. Use your Red weapon if your foes approach too near. If you have any kind of shooting ability and an adversary or boss has a weak spot that is exposed, you should definitely use your Blue weapon to target that area.
Immortals of Aveum Tips: Don’t Rely Too Much On Your Defense
Yes, your shield may be a very helpful weapon, but you shouldn’t expect it to stand up if you merely walk into a crowd of foes. It isn’t very durable, and if it breaks, you lose your shield for a short while. It’s preferable to hold off using it until you anticipate an attack you won’t be able to avoid or until you find an opportunity and want to press your offense. Remember to employ your Blink dodge move, which will let you to deflect the bulk of strikes aimed at you and conserve your shield for when you’ll need it most.
When Casting a Shield, You Can Still Fire
During battle, the shield is crucial. It will enable you to take a break throughout challenging battles. However, one of the crucial Immortals of Aveum lessons to remember is that while casting your shield, you may still perform magic. Take advantage of that and eliminate far-off or closing in adversaries.
When You Can, Try to Spellbreak Your Opponent
Although it is not very clearly explained in Immortals of Aveum, the Disrupt Control ability is another one that should not be ignored in battle. Disrupt may be used to stop magical strikes from adversaries in addition to stun them, as the name suggests. If you time it just so, it effectively functions like a parry and deals “Spellbreak” to an opponent. In addition to breaking their enchantment, this also harms the villain.
Keep Your Fury Spells For Killing Off Enemies
You possess Fury spells in addition to your Control skills, which are unique magical assaults acquired by ingesting mana crystals. These aren’t really very effective against bosses and large foes, in my experience. Save them until you’re up against a big group of opponents, then fire them off one by one to take out all the bad guys since they work well for dealing numerous foes damage at once.
Puzzle-Solving Isn’t The Only Use For Limpets
Limpits, which are little green blobs that may be employed to slow down targets, are one of your “Control” skills. They may also be employed in battle, although initially you’ll only use them to slow down items and figure out specific environmental riddles. If a bad guy is really closing in on you, use your Limpets to zap them, slowing them down so you have time to breathe. Additionally, you may switch to your Blue weapon for some precise attacks once you have used your Limpets to slow down an adversary.
Immolate is Best Used for Smoking Tough Opponents and Bosses
The last assault is your Dominion’s Immolate, which you can use once you’ve dealt enough damage. This attack is effectively the antithesis of fury spells in that it works best when there is just one large target that has to be scorched. If you anticipate engaging in a boss encounter soon, reserve one of these since, when used properly, a single Immolate strike may reduce a monster’ health bar by between a third and a half.
Try to Locate The Spells Timeburst Fury and Vortex
The third one is optional, however I strongly advise that you locate the spells Timeburst and Vortex Fury. Timeburst slows down time, and Vortex gathers all the foes in a region so you may strike them all at once. Both are essential components and highly helpful high-level tactics! These two Furies may be discovered away from the main golden route, but don’t worry—we’ve created tips on how to access them. Here are the locations of Timeburst and Vortex, respectively.
Choose Equipment with Larger Ammo Capacities and Quicker Reloads
One of the more private Immortals of Aveum advice I’ll offer is this, but I think it’s worthwhile. Focus on gear that has more ammunition capacity and/or quicker reloads and cooldowns when decking out Jak. By doing this, you may increase your combat effectiveness and reduce your concern about cooldowns and reloads.
