Hey everyone, Arihead here. As some of you know, I’ve been playing Elden Ring a lot. Maybe a bit too much, but that’s how it is in Elden Ring. It sucks you in with its lore, beautiful world exploration and what it’s known for, punishing combat. While the combat may be hard for many, mastering its intricacies can be very fulfilling it. Of course, its combat is also famously known to be quite complicated, with countless builds available, many of which are more than viable to comfortably finish the game.
Although PVE can be very straightforward at times, PvP is another thing altogether, especially dueling. Depending on how you like to play, there are certain rules that both duelists must adhere to in a competitive environment. If you’re curious about this ruleset, I recommend you check out the Elden Ring PvP Discord server for more information. I won’t go over all the rules in this video. Instead, I just wanna showcase the build that’s been giving me a lot of success lately. Given that I’m still new to Soulsborne PvP, I’m definitely no expert. But as a natural tryhard, I do give it my hundred percent. Before I showcase my build though, don’t forget to check out our website. At Electronic First, we give you the best games at the best prices, like Elden Ring, which is on discount right now.
So first, let me introduce you to what I call, the “ZweiMage.” Elden Ring Zweimage, most Int-based mages tend to keep their distance, spamming spells like Stars of Ruin to gain an advantage in combat. This however, can leave them vulnerable due to the high FP playstyle. This is definitely not true for all mages though. By utilizing spells like Swift Glintstone Shard and others, you can save up on a lot of FP while trying to gain an advantage. And of course, utilizing a timely Stars of Ruin or Moonveil ash is a strong option.
The crux of my build lies in the combination between the infamous Colossal Sword crouching r1 into Carian Slicer, which happens to be a true combo against most competitive builds. This can rack up an insane amount of damage and can also be chain casted into Glintstone Cometshard to catch rolls. And with the Quick Step Ash of War, I’m able to both relieve tons of pressure and dodge attacks, possibly retaliating with a crouching r1. Let me break down what I’m equipping in this build:
My main hand is a magic infused Zweihander, used with Quick Step. On my left is the Lusat’s Glintstone Staff, a powerful staff with high Int scaling and a passive that increases your spell damage further by about 10%. Every now and then, I mix up my approach with my Clayman Harpoon, used with the Glintstone Phalanx Ash of War. It may not be a popular option compared to weapons like Moonveil, but the Clayman Harpoon is no joke, possessing natural Int scaling and a great moveset.
The spells I often use are the Swift Glintstone Shard, Carian Slicer, Glintstone Cometshard, Adula’s Moonblade, Night Shard and Shard Spiral.
My talismans are Great Jar’s Arsenal, Radagon’s Soreseal to achieve the necessary stat requirements, Green Turtle Talisman and Erdtree’s Favor +2.
The armor I use are Queen’s Crescent Crown for the +3 Int, Veteran’s Armor, Black Knife Gauntlets and Veteran’s Greaves. This build is definitely not dependent on any specific armor set, but achieving the 56 poise breakpoint is very easy with the Veteran’s Set. In the ruleset I subscribe to, Wondrous Physicks are permitted with certain limitations. The ones I like to use are the Crimson Bubbletear and the Opaline Bubbletear.
Here are my stats without equipping anything.
And finally, here are my stats with everything equipped.
And that sums up how my build works. I hope you enjoy my recent PvP duels: Elden Ring Zweimage. Although do note that many of my opponents did not follow the previously mentioned ruleset.
I know I got my butt kicked a couple of times, but I hope you enjoyed my recent duels.
