Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater

Fans eagerly anticipate the release of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, set to introduce modern visuals and gameplay improvements to its iconic narrative. The upcoming game is a remake of the beloved and popular 2004’s Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. The Metal Gear franchise launched over 30 years ago and has become one of the best.

The unique single-player stealth gameplay has kept the fans hooked since the beginning. The series contains more than 24 games, each as exciting as ever. Players can’t wait to see what the upcoming title has in store, especially since it’ll blend Hideo Kojima’s exceptional storytelling and cutting-edge technology. Let’s get into the game’s details!

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Release Date

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Release Date

Although developer Konami hasn’t officially announced the exact Meta Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Remake release date, the game is expected to come out in 2024. In the past, the Konami developer has launched major titles sometime in the fall since it’s mostly peak game season. In addition to this, the game was silently featured in an official Sony video listing 2024 releases.

Hopefully, the remake will return to our screens this year without any more delays. Fans are eager to dive into the game and experience the massive visual overhaul it will receive. The original game tested the PlayStation 2’s limits and was considered a technical master ahead of time. From the trailer, we can see that it will be an exciting journey!

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Platforms

While we haven’t received an official release date, we know the platforms on which the game will be released. Although there have been deep historical ties between the series and Sony, the upcoming won’t be a PlayStation-exclusive title. It’s set to launch on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC, meaning that it’s set to be an exciting new-gen video game.

Moreover, it hasn’t been confirmed if it’ll come on day one of Xbox Game Pass, but this news might be revealed once a solid release date comes out. Unfortunately, for players with older hardware, the game won’t be coming to last-gen consoles. If you really wish to play the exciting game, you might have to consider updating your current setup before the remake comes out.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Story

    Story

The game’s story is one of the most compelling in gaming history, diving deeper into the themes of survival, loyalty, and betrayal. Playing the role of Naked Snake (aka Big Boss), you’ll infiltrate your opponent’s territory, engage in intense battles, and untangle the entire web, i.e., the complicated plot serving as a prequel to the fan-favorite Metal Gear saga.

While in the middle of the Cold War, the protagonist, Naked Snake, helps out a scientist named Sokolov defect by infiltrating the Soviet Union. Unfortunately, this mission ends in vain when Snake’s mentor, named The Boss (a soldier also called the mother of special forces), betrays him. So, as a result of this, Solokov ends up getting captured by GRU’s Colonel Volgin.

Nearly a week later, Snake returns to the same enemy territory to save Solokov and kill The Boss. Enemy nations have constructed weapons that have the power to secretly bring about mass destruction, threatening the future of human beings. Konami has officially confirmed that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is set to tell the same story narrated in Metal Gear Solid 3.

Fans eagerly anticipate the return of the series’ most iconic characters, who will be revived by a popular and talented set of voice actors. Although Konami hasn’t officially confirmed their entire list of  Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater voice actors, it’s expected that players will see the original actors reprising their roles, which further adds authenticity to the upcoming remake.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Gameplay

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Gameplay

In the Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater trailers, we got a glimpse into the game’s world, fascinating visuals, and thrilling gameplay. Snake can be seen aiming in first-person view from tall grass while sneakily making his way through marshes and quietly past reptilian creatures. He can also be seen taking cover behind trees and ruins, showing off beautiful views.

You can also see Snake moving while he’s crouched, leaning, climbing, and walking. Players can also catch a glimpse of the protagonist taking out a guard from behind, and after seeing this footage, you’ll realize that you’ve seen these movements before. However, you’ll also notice that the motions are far smoother and more seamless than the original Metal Solid Delta 3.

Since the remake will have the same story and voice actors as the original, you can expect to see the usual gameplay. Although Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will feature the usual combat and stealth-filled interactions, many fans hope it will be more polished than the original game. Many mechanics can benefit from fine-tuning to make the experience better.

    Original Vs Remake

In an X post, the developers claimed they intended the upcoming remake to be a “faithful recreation of the original story and game design while evolving the gameplay with stunning visuals and a seamless user experience.” It might get something similar to the latest Resident Evil remakes, i.e., a complete camera and mechanics overhaul to transport the game to today.

The original game was highly praised for its appealing content and for being way before its time. Many fans are eager to see how it’s all adapted to better player experience. In the original, mechanics like healing were quite complex and contained plenty of in-menu labor. However, we aren’t sure if this is one of the areas the developers are busy improving in the game.

There are still many more things yet to be disclosed about how Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is set to follow in the footsteps of the original game. However, one thing we can say for sure is that there’s plenty we do know and won’t jump into the game completely blind. A showcase exploring the game’s mechanics confirmed that it’ll feature two ways for you to play.

The game will feature a legacy mode. It will allow you to keep your original controls and a camera view that is similar to the original game. On the other hand, the modern mode is set to feature an over-the-shoulder third-person shooter experience. Therefore, prepare for a game that has the best of everything!

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Improved Graphics & Audio

    Graphics and audio

Snake Eater is developed on the power of Unreal Engine 5. It means it’s set to feature amazing visuals that will bring the game’s world to life in unimaginable ways. It’ll be several levels above the original Metal Gear Solid video game. The developers meticulously crafted every detail in the game to offer a visually appealing experience.

You’ll be able to see the beauty in the intricate character models or the dense jungles of Tselinoyarsk. In addition to the graphics and visuals, the game’s audio received a significant upgrade from the developers. They introduced immersive soundscapes that maximize the environment and the tension within the game.

Moreover, the class soundtrack composed by Harry Gregson-Williams is set to make a comeback in the eagerly anticipated game. However, it’ll be accompanied by brand-new musical arrangements that work perfectly with the game’s modern and latest aesthetic. Once you set your feet on the game’s world, you will not want to get off your gaming chair.

If you want to check out the graphics, you can start watching the game’s trailers. The developers have occasionally dropped new looks at the game’s visuals, graphics, audio, gameplay, etc. You’ll get a good idea of what’s waiting for you after watching them.
