BrokenLore: UNFOLLOW will not be your regular horror game where you avoid and flee from unnatural entities. Rather, the game sucks you into a shattered digital hell-like nightmare that’s disturbingly as well as very similar to real life.

Through the story of Anne, a bullied young woman, the game digs deep into the impact of social media, trauma, and the cost of being seen online. According to official reports, BrokenLore: UNFOLLOW is coming to PS5 and PC in Q3 2025.

The game BrokenLore: UNFOLLOW is one you’ll want to keep an eye on. It has all the markings of a standout horror release.

Story About Fear, Identity, and the Digital Self

You are Anne in this game. She’s stuck in a nightmarish and eerie world, tormented by dark apparitions and her own guilt.

BrokenLore: UNFOLLOW mixes traditional horror cliches with new psychological themes. It’s an experience of internal horror.

    BrokenLore: UNFOLLOW Story

Anne is not just a character. She’s the face of internet trauma and online harassment. She suffers emotional wounds that never heal. You’ll feel her agony and decisions as well as development in a game that reacts depending on what you do.

    BrokenLore Universe

UNFOLLOW is one of the episodes in the broader BrokenLore anthology. Every game has its own story but is part of a larger narrative.

With previous chapters such as LOW and DON’T WATCH already available on Steam, the new UNFOLLOW continues the series’ theme of fractured timelines and self-reflection.

Serafini Productions refers to it as a “mega-lore”. Every chapter in this game unfolds more pieces of the puzzle. But every game is also standalone. So, if you’re a newcomer, you can enjoy the story without having to play the first entries.

    Gameplay Details

BrokenLore: UNFOLLOW is a first-person game. The experience is centered around exploration and branching choices you make in each part.

    Gameplay as first-person

Anne has to overcome environmental puzzles and battle creatures that are manifestations of her innermost fears. She will also have to decipher abstract symbols to get to the next stage.

That’s why your choices count. What you have to say, where you move, and how you deal with encounters determines your ending.

It’s not a single-ending horror game. You should be prepared to replay it just to see how various choices influence Anne’s destiny.

    Trailer and First Look

The official trailer for BrokenLore: UNFOLLOW dropped in late May 2025 and it’s chilling.

BrokenLore: Unfollow – Announcement Trailer | PS5 Games

The imagery blends glitch effects with nightmarish dreamscapes. Sound design is reserved, but disturbing.

The trailer promised us the highs and lows of what to anticipate, perpetual tension, feelings of hopelessness, and a narrative that just won’t play it safe and give answers. While past titles had remained PC-exclusive, UNFOLLOW is coming to PS5 as well.

PC Indie → Full Console Debut

The BrokenLore series has had its roots in PC indie horror all along. Earlier installments had taken off due to their distinct tone and structure of the story.

But UNFOLLOW now translates that creepy atmosphere to consoles. This is Serafini Productions’ first console release as BrokenLore.

The transition to PS5 means greater production quality and a larger audience reach. If it does well, it can potentially open the door for future BrokenLore titles to make their way to consoles as well.

    Themes That Cut Deep

The central theme in BrokenLore: UNFOLLOW is the psychological impact of social media on real life.

Anne’s world is shaped by notifications and toxic comments as well as the pressure to be seen. Her enemies aren’t just monsters, they’re visual metaphors for shame and abandonment.

    BrokenLore: UNFOLLOW Theme

Body dysmorphia. Social anxiety. Bullying. These aren’t background elements, they’re the driving forces behind every mechanic and visual in the game.

You’re not escaping the monsters in this game, you’re trying to understand them.

Akidearest, an actual YouTuber, appears as a character in the game. Her voice and character add depth and realism to the narrative. Her participation lends credibility and assists in capturing the real-life experiences of content creators suffering from online stress.

    BrokenLore: UNFOLLOW Is Different

BrokenLore: UNFOLLOW doesn’t conform to the standard horror template.

There is no combat mechanic, no firearms and havens. The horror is psychological. It’s in what you perceive, what you overhear, and what you refuse to notice.

    Putting scissors to a doll

This gameplay direction forces players into a state of tension all the time. It also pays homage to the themes of the game. Anne is not a fighter, she is a survivor.

    Connection to Ghost Frequency

Serafini Productions is not coming slow. In addition to BrokenLore: UNFOLLOW, they’ve also put out Ghost Frequency which is a lesser horror endeavor crafted in a matter of weeks. It’s available now on Steam and hitting Nintendo Switch in May 2025.

Ghost Frequency is a found-footage experience that centers around actual ghost hunters trying to explore a haunted location. It’s a different vibe but still has the same introspective horror style Serafini is accustomed to.

    Warning and a Reflection

If you’re an emotional person, it’s not easy to play BrokenLore: UNFOLLOW. That’s half the point. It’s made to represent the stress of internet living.

    BrokenLore: UNFOLLOW Warning

To everyone who has ever felt watched, judged, or misrepresented on the internet, this game will resonate. And that’s what makes it significant. Horror that’s based on reality tends to linger longer than any jump scare.

    Not Just Big Titles

If you’re looking to build a horror game collection that goes beyond mainstream releases, BrokenLore: UNFOLLOW is a must-play.

It joins the ranks of indie horror legends like Outlast and Amnesia but adds a social layer most games shy away from. If you prefer to back-off lesser-known gems, games such as this should be given their due attention. Moreover, you can purchase such games from Electronic First at low prices. Once a hit game like BrokenLore is released, we offer them at a reduced price. You can get the game instantly, that too at an unbeatable price.

BrokenLore: UNFOLLOW Deserves a Spot On Your List

BrokenLore: UNFOLLOW is coming in Q3 2025. It will be available on Steam and now PS5.

The game expands the indie horror landscape with its focus on social issues and decision-driven gameplay with also importance given to emotional trauma. It’s haunting and it’s symbolic. It’s unlike anything you’ve played this year.

If you love horror narrative-driven games, BrokenLore: UNFOLLOW deserves a permanent place in your search bar. This title might just define psychological horror for this generation.
