What made Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater such an interesting game?

Up until the third entry, we had a very simplistic approach when it came to the stealth gameplay. But when Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater appeared in 2004 on the PS2, it was the first game in the series canonically. Not only that, but it also had a very detailed and comprehensive story with some really engaging moments.

Another thing to note is that we have a different character when compared to the first 2 games. The setting is also more modern when compared to the other games. We have a Cold War spy gameplay that really suits the game’s approach very easily and it also enhances the gameplay to that. The sense of immersion is where Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater sets itself apart from any other game, even the other ones in the series.

We have everything from period music to a very good design to fit the era, and we also have more fluid animations. Of course, we are 20 years away from the original game, so the graphics don’t hold up as much. That’s why having the Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater remake is a great idea. We still get to experience that amazing story, but through the modern perspective and with a much better set of graphics. That’s amazing, and it shows how incredible Metal Gear Solid can really get, not to mention very immersive and enjoyable.

Who is making the Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater remake?

As we all know, Hideo Kojima is not working with Konami anymore, but they are still retaining the rights to the series. What that also means is they are the ones that decide where the series go, and what kind of path they can set for the game. Konami decided to go with Virtuous for this Metal Gear Solid Delta remake.

They decided to focus on creating a remake that’s very faithful to the original. So that most likely means they are not going to change a whole lot, which is exactly something that we need to take into consideration. With that being said, you will like the fact that they do want to ensure the story is very good as it once was, without having to remove some essential elements that would be a core part of the experience as a whole.

What a lot of people don’t know is that this might be the first Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection release. However, it’s not the first re-release of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. The game already had another PS2 version aside from the original. That particular version added camera controls, and also there was an Xbox 360, PS3 version and so on. It’s very hard to know the exact release date, there’s none set in stone right now. But we can expect this to eventually arrive on PC, PS5 and Xbox series X and S in 2024 or maybe a bit after that.

The reality is that the game is quite the undertaking, and redoing it from scratch is certainly a huge challenge. Yet if the reception of their announcement is something to base our ideas on, it’s rather clear that the game will only become better and we shouldn’t rush the development process.

Until then, we can watch the Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater walkthrough of the original game. Or we can play the first 2 parts as we prepare for this third one. The fact that there’s no release date can mean a multitude of things. One of them is that the game might be earlier in production than a lot of people expect. Or maybe there are other things they want to add aside from the complete remake, so it’s hard to know exactly. But one thing is certain, they are bringing in a unique amount of elements into the mix, and they are trying to enhance the gameplay too, so we’ll see that.

Konami is certainly doing a very good job at marketing the game and showing off the unique visual style. It certainly bolsters the focus on visual fidelity, and it might be fair to say that a lot of people are enjoying that kind of stuff. But obviously there are also people that just don’t care about that. They just want to be certain that they have a great time and experience, and they expect the gameplay to be very much like the original. Whether that will be the case or not, we will see closer to the release. But for now, things are indeed looking great, and the devs said they want to keep that original experience as much as they can.

The Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater trailer

The fact that we got a Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater trailer shows that there’s at least some progress when it comes to the game. It does bring us a unique insight into some of the missions at least. What we liked about the trailer is the fact that they are showing a lot of the scenery and the locations as a whole. It does bring a great insight into the fauna and flora, but also some of the enemies and how they are looking.

What you will notice about the Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater trailer is they didn’t show anything major when it comes to the plot or gameplay. A lot of people already played the original, but we can only assume that the lack of story info is designed to help people avoid spoilers in case they didn’t play it yet. It’s exciting because there are some cool elements to the story, and it would be sad to have them spoiled for you.

And while you can watch the entire playthrough of the original on sites like YouTube, most people will just want to relive the original with high definition graphics. We hope that this upgrade won’t damage the game’s feel too much, but we have to wait and see what happens and how the devs chose to approach some of the critical moments from the original.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater – will it support mods?

A lot of people are wondering if this new and upgraded version will have support for mods. It’s a fair question because it will be available on PC. So there’s a high chance of the modding community adding some new features and ideas into the mix. With that being said, the developers don’t have any specific info about mods. They might very well add mods, but it’s difficult to know when and if these will arrive at all.

With that in mind, they are listening to the community and the dev team is known for having some great games. We will have to wait when it comes to mods, but for the most part, we believe that they will allow the community to go wild with these things. There’s no reason not to, and the modded content can enhance the game even more. So it’s certainly the type of thing that people will try out and see if they enjoy it.

Do you have to play the other games to understand Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater?

Metal Gear Solid is the type of series that has a very convoluted story. But the truth is that Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater doesn’t require a lot of knowledge about the previous games. It definitely helps wen it comes to understanding the overarching story. However, they used another main character and that detracts from adding in too much pressure to learn everything. That’s why it’s totally worth testing this game out and seeing if you enjoy it.

You can watch a walkthrough of the previous games on YouTube to have a good idea of what the general story is about. With that being said, you aren’t forced to check this out and it’s one of those experiences that will be quite good on its own.

The fact that this game as a whole has lots of focus on stealth is great, and the jungle element certainly adds to that. It’s also the reason why we think Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is a great game to try even if you never played other stuff in the series. It’s definitely a great introduction to the series, and a complete remake like this is going to make you more inclined to check the other games in the series too.

Straying from the traditional formula

If you watch a Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater walkthrough, you will see that this is one of the games that goes away from the traditional formula of MGS games. It relies on using the wilderness to your advantage. Yes, there are tech threats too, but way less. Instead, you have a more visceral survival approach that a lot of people will appreciate and enjoy. To make things even better, you get to learn how the wilderness reacts and you can adapt to that. It really is one of those cool moments and ideas that everyone will like, although it can take a while until you get used to the experience as a whole.

Will the game have all the original voices?

Yes, Konami has confirmed that they are using the original voices from the game. What’s interesting is that they are not bringing back the voice cast. Instead, they are using the exact audio from the original game. It’s nice to see that the game is doing a great job at bringing the older content, without trying to change it too much. People’s voice can change over the years, and it seems that Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater wants to be very faithful to the original as much as it can be.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is an amazing game and having it remade from scratch is quite an interesting idea. With that in mind, we have to note that Hideo Kojima and also Yoji Shinkawa will not be a part of the remake at all. Many of us might know that they were 2 major cogs for the original game’s release. However, Kojima has his own studio and he moved away from the MGS series, which is owned by Konami. While that might be a bit of a disappointment for some, it’s still amazing to see this game remade, and hopefully more of the Metal Gear Solid series will receive this treatment because it very well deserves that!
