There’s no doubt that PUBG Mobile always makes new records every year with its esports plans. And with recently concluded PMGC 2024, we have another roadmap for the coming year. We can expect heavy investments, more tournaments with bigger formats, better esports setup, and huge price pools in 2025. Read on to see what PUBG Mobile Esports 2025 have planned for us.
A Bigger, Better Tournament Structure For 2025
One good thing about Esports is that it’s based on the audience’s perspective and they get exactly what they want. We are going to have some alteration in the upcoming tournament structure for PUBG Mobile Esports 2025. There will be three major global level events.
PUBG Mobile Global Open (PMGO)
- Will take place in March and April in Uzbekistan.
- Teams will qualify through regional PMGO qualifiers.
- Amateur teams will have a shot at the big stage.
World Championship (PMWC)
- To be held in Riyadh, like the 2024 World Cup. It aligns with the Esports World Cup.
- Top teams from the PMSL Spring season will compete.
- Positioned as the season’s mid-year spectacle.
Global Championship (PMGC)
- The crown jewel and the most prestigious PUBG Mobile Esports global event. Set for December in Thailand.
- Top teams from regional PMSL tournaments will vie for the ultimate title of Global Champion.
PMSL Expands to Five Regions
The PUBG Mobile Super League (PMSL) was originally limited to a few regions, PMSL will now have five regions. This expansion is mainly derived from the audience and players base point of view which means that now another region’s teams will have a chance to compete at a global stage. Please note that PMSL is the primary qualification route for international events. It’s a long-format (2-3 months long event) and only the most consistent and best teams go to the PMGC.
The new regions setup in PMSL 2025 are the following:
- Southeast Asia
- Europe
- New MENA (Middle East and North Africa)
- CSA (Central and South Asia)
- The Americas
$10 Million Investment in Esports
PUBG Mobile announced a massive $10 million investment for Esports events in 2025. This funding is distributed for prize pools across all major and regional tournaments, infrastructure development for expansion of PMSL and LAN events. Moreover, we are going to have a content creation program as well. It includes initiatives like the PDP Design Contest with a $60,000 prize pool.
Global Partner Teams
The Global Partner Team program for PUBG Mobile will continue in 2025. The program is featuring 10 partner teams and they are going to receive guaranteed spots in global events like the PUBG Mobile Super League. However, current teams must undergo re-evaluation alongside new applicants to keep the fair environment. Applications for the 2025 Global Partner Team program will open on December 1, 2024, with selections finalized by February 2025.
Regional Events Coming
The 2025 Esports circuit is going to organize 20 regional tournaments. All across Southeast Asia, Europe, MENA, CSA, and the Americas. That’s an amazing way to find top talent and feed them into the competitive battle royale games. Moreover, thanks to the Ultimate Royale which is proving to be an entry level qualifier for every player. The return of PMGO, now hosted in Uzbekistan, will also allow top-500 Ultimate Royale players to bypass early qualifiers.
Benchmark in Esports
Every year, we see something big and better from PUBG Mobile Esports. And 2025 is going to be huge. They are focusing on more events and some female-focused programs as well. That makes their goal clear that they are creating a competitive Esports system where every player has a chance to prove himself/herself.
PUBG Mobile Esports 2025 events are going to be the most competitive season so far. All credit goes to the global event, improved qualifiers systems for every player, huge investments, and talent hunt programs.
