Tactical Giant Finally Heads to Consoles

The long-awaited tactical shooter Ready Or Not is finally making its way to PlayStation 5 this summer. Developed by VOID Interactive, this critically acclaimed title has built a loyal fanbase on PC with its gritty realism, methodical pacing, and no-nonsense SWAT gameplay. Now, console players can experience the same high-stakes action. If you’ve been waiting to suit up, Ready Or Not on PS5 is just around the corner.

The console release brings with it all the core features that made the PC version a standout, plus a few extras.

Tactical FPS fans can now plan their breach and clear operations on a platform built for precision gameplay. The keyword here is Ready Or Not, and if you’re a fan of games like Rainbow Six or classic Ghost Recon, this is a must-watch release.

    PS5 Experience

Ready Or Not isn’t your average run-and-gun shooter. Each mission is carefully structured to reward communication, patience, and strategy.

The PS5 version includes the full suite of missions, with 20 core operations already in place. On top of that, two brand-new missions will be added as part of a free update on launch day. These are included in the free “Stories from Los Sueños” DLC.

That means players stepping into Ready Or Not for the first time will already have access to 22 different scenarios, each offering unique layouts, enemy types, and objectives.

The game scales difficulty based on how aggressive or passive your approach is, rewarding players who act like real SWAT teams. This is not Call of Duty. One wrong move can mean mission failure or worse.

    Gameplay Design

    Gameplay Design

The gameplay loop in Ready Or Not focuses on room clearing, hostage negotiation, evidence collection, and controlled combat. You can enter a mission solo or link up with up to four other players in online co-op.

It also supports full cross-play, meaning you can squad up with your PC friends even on PS5.

One of the biggest talking points is the rules of engagement system. You’re not here to shoot everything that moves. You’ll need to issue warnings, detain suspects, and avoid civilian casualties.

The AI responds to your actions with realistic unpredictability, which makes each run-through feel different. This is a title that encourages learning the map, syncing with your team, and using proper tactics.

    Authentic Gear and Customization

Authentic Gear and Customization on Ready Or Not

VOID Interactive has taken real-life SWAT equipment and replicated it with incredible detail. In Ready Or Not, you’ll gear up with modern tactical weapons, optics, armor types, breaching tools, and non-lethal options like beanbag shotguns and flashbangs. The game includes dozens of options for customizing your kit and appearance.

On PS5, these details are carried over without compromise. Players can adjust loadouts for each mission, tweaking every detail from muzzle attachments to armor level. It’s the kind of gear management that’ll appeal to players who obsess over tactical efficiency.

    PS5 Versions and Pricing

The console version will be available in three editions.

    Here’s a breakdown:

    EditionPriceIncludes

Players who pre-order the Day One or Deluxe editions on PS5 will receive a set of early access weapons, which include the M32A1 grenade launcher, MK-V pistol, and 590M shotgun.

These weapons will also be granted to PC players who already own the game as part of the update.

    What’s Included in the DLC?

    What’s Included in the DLC

The Home Invasion and Dark Waters DLCs add three missions each.

One notable addition is the UH-60 support helicopter, which introduces new gameplay mechanics to the tactical mix. These content drops are included in the Deluxe Edition or available separately for $9.99 each.

These missions are not just filler. Each is crafted with the same level of detail and narrative context as the base missions. Expect new types of suspects, tighter quarters, and multiple threat layers.

    Optimized For Console Controls

Ready Or Not was originally designed with PC players in mind. But VOID Interactive has made significant changes to make sure the PS5 version plays fluidly with a controller.

The console version includes enhanced aim assist, improved input response, and full haptic feedback integration on DualSense.

The developers didn’t just port the UI. However, they rebuilt large portions of it to feel natural on a gamepad. This includes streamlined radial menus, simplified squad commands, and better quick-access to gadgets.

Free Story Missions and Long-Term Support

VOID Interactive is releasing a free content pack alongside the console version. Titled Stories from Los Sueños, it brings two new missions to all platforms.

Console and PC players alike will get these new maps day-and-date, reinforcing the developer’s long-term commitment to post-launch content.

The team also hinted at a third DLC pack included in the Deluxe Edition. While no details are out yet, it shows that Ready Or Not will continue to evolve beyond launch.

    Physical and Digital Options Available

Ready Or Not will be available both digitally and physically for PS5. The physical editions will include all the same bonuses and content as the digital versions, depending on which edition you purchase. This is a plus for collectors and players who prefer disc-based ownership.

Expect full support for in-game updates, cross-play matchmaking, and DLC integration across both formats. You’ll get the same experience regardless of how you choose to purchase.

Why Console Players Should Pay Attention

Why Console Players Should Pay Attention

There aren’t many games that stick so strictly to tactical realism. Ready Or Not does, and it also rewards players who take the time to understand its systems.

This is the type of shooter that doesn’t rely on flashy killstreaks or wild arcade mechanics. It builds tension, punishes mistakes, and makes you think like a team leader.

For PS5 players who miss the slower, smarter shooters of the past, this is the game to watch. With robust content, co-op support, realistic mechanics, and ongoing updates, Ready Or Not has the potential to become the top tactical shooter on the platform.

    Final Thoughts

Ready Or Not brings a grounded, gripping tactical experience to PS5 this summer. With a full suite of missions, DLC support, cross-play, controller optimization, and multiple editions, VOID Interactive is giving console players the full package.
